Winter Talent Showcase Collaboration

Matty Durgin & Peach Street Distillers

Green Russell’s Matty Durgin and team at Peach Street Distillers have shaken up a couple cocktails this week to prepare for their presentation Monday night’s Winter Talent Showcase. Together, they decided that they wanted to demonstrate the variety of ways that the Palisade distillery is influencing Denver’s top shelf cocktails. Matty ran with their impulse to strive for the unique and they are excited to share what they are calling creatively perfect.

Matty visited the team at Peach Street and had the opportunity to reach for their full line of products no matter how fresh to the shelf they were. They will be calling for flavors from their Jack and Jenny Eau de Vie line, in particular, the Peach Brandy. Flavors accrued from the fermenting of their tree-ripened peaches are distilled in their copper pot still to perfection with their traditional distilling methods. Their peaches are Colorado proud and fermented whole to capture the essences of local produce.

To compete with the flavors of the Peach Eau de Vie, Matty also calls for their Oak-aged Peach Brandy, which will integrate the flavor of summer peaches with the warmth of our wintery months [if they ever get here]. Like the Eau de Vie, they create this brandy with the freshest and ripest Colorado peaches, but then barrel the young brandy in recouped and toasted chardonnay barrels sourced from local wineries.

Their collaboration also enabled Matty to go off the radar and reach for a bottle of their new Jackalope and Jenny Pear Gin. This is Peach Street’s rendition of two of the world’s oldest spirits and the result has them wondering why nobody has attempted this blend before. They blend their botanicals and grind them together in their rawest form to distill with fresh pears that pull each of the flavors together into a beautiful spirit.
