Vita Launches Rooftop Summer Concert Series

Presented by C Entertainment Connection

Presented by local industry self-starter Christie “CC”Chambers and the recent public launch of her new company C Entertainment Connection, Vita is hosting a rooftop concert series each Wednesday throughout the rest of the summer from 6-9pm. Launched just last week, the combination of rooftop and patio and music [and food and drinks, obviously] is promise enough to draw a nice little crowd as the series grows each week. Vita’s stylish but relaxed patio above the restaurant is a great summer spot to catch a Moscow Mule and now some pretty fun jams. The modern American menu of small plates, versatile patio wines and sunny cocktails at Vita are a seamless fit for the rooftop series. Wrapping up the series in September, one of CC’s more popular projects, The Broken Tongues will be performing unplugged which should be a pretty exciting production. Here is the lineup for this Summer’s rooftop concert series at Vita. Continue reading

Moving on to compete in Punch Kings June 2

Congratulations to James Vickers, Williams & Graham barback that took the top spot in Industry Denver and Breckenridge Distillery’s Heroes of Punch last Wednesday. Stealing the show from 11 of Denver’s most talented bartenders, his promised 2-point handicap was not even needed to take the title. Holland Rock-Garden, the self-appointed best bartender of Green Russell who had taken the top prize for the Four Roses competition in the previous night came in close behind James. Blue River Punch was the name of the creation that James presented for judging that included Breckenridge Bourbon and his mother’s chai tea recipe stolen from a family recipe book. Continue reading

A Reason to get Disco at The Corner Office

The Corner Office Disco Brunch Menu HighlightsA Reason to get Disco at The Corner Office

Menu highlights from TCO’s Disco Brunch

The Corner Office has hustled out with a new Disco Brunch menu this spring and so far so groovy. Rocking a retro-chic atmosphere, don‘t feel embarrassed to don your finest of feathers and polyester because TCO was designed for good times and comfort. But the polyester on your back isn’t the only comfort in the building – a progressive comfort menu by chef Rich Byers is mixed with international flavors to give our traditional favorites a fresh twist.

With new selections like the Shag – an apple bread pudding French toast with cinnamon maple ice cream, they are somehow diminishing the line between breakfast and dessert [and nobody is complaining]. Savory highlights include a house made porchetta hash as well as their eggs Benedict served with pork belly and crispy potatoes over fresh biscuits. The east bound and down is as savory as it gets. Beginning with a bed of creamy grits, they rest two eggs over easy and top with a slow cooked pork belly, fennel, and red pepper ragout and four shrimp. It was perfect for somebody who couldn’t decide on breakfast or lunch [thank god for brunch].  Continue reading

Latin Wine, Tapas, and Summer Breeze at al Lado

2013-05-13 07.05.36Latin Wine, Tapas, and Summer Breeze at

al Lado

Sit, but plan to stay!

Once you take a seat at al Lado, you will realize that you’ve already scored points if you are on a date and won’t feel like a loner if you’re not. Their super low-key lounge at the front windows will keep you there for no less than three glasses of wine and a table of paired tapas. If they open the front doors and let the warm breeze in, you’d might as well order the bottle and stay for dinner. It all starts with the Patatas Fritas, the lemony and vinegary gateway tapa that leads to the savory Serrano ham and mushroom Crispy Croquetas. The Monday Pours will only make it that much better or worse, but we all know that our kind of worse is always that much better anyways, so dive in. Continue reading

The entered recipes were sent to Breckenridge to be judged by the distillery’s team of cocktail creatives and brand experts. Originally, our goal was to limit the competition to 10 competitors, but the 13 entries that we narrowed it down to couldn’t be cut any shorter.
